Dear colleagues,
contrary to the increase in meal allowances approved by the Bundestag on November 17, 2023:
the Conciliation Committee (between the Bundestag and Bundesrat) has completely removed these planned legislative changes from the Growth Opportunities Act on February 21, 2024, and the Bundestag has approved this on February 23, 2024.
The lump-sum amounts for meal allowances will therefore not be raised as expected, and the current rates remain as follows:
Consequently, we will revert the daily rates to the old amounts starting from the travel date of March 1, 2024.The travel expenses policy is available here on Blue Net.
It is planned that the Bundesrat will approve the law in its current version during its next session on March 22, 2024. Theoretically, the Bundesrat could request a (further) amendment to the current version of the Growth Opportunities Act.
In our opinion, a change to the lump-sum allowances is not expected.
